So far 10 out of 10

So far this has been excellent! I food prep for my work week with this thing. It does bring water to a boil for those wondering. I recently made egg sandwiches, breakfast burritos, caramelized onions, chicken tacos, and chicken for fresh rolls all in one sitting and the burner worked great. I’ve had it for about a month now. It functions like a normal stovetop. I wipe mine down with a wet paper towel after every use. I use dish soap as well if I splatter oil. Some of the lettering has wiped off but that is not important to me. I use a large skillet on the big burner and a small skillet on the smaller burner. The pans do touch and I wish there was more space between the two burners but that is just nitpicking. I would definitely recommend this.

Buen producto, good product

I am very satisfied with my purchase, honestly. It works very well. According to me, it doesn't consume much energy. It works very well in emergencies. I really recommend it for people who live in small spaces.

Some like it hot!!

Like many people, I like drinking coffee. I like hot, and iced, coffee, but I prefer the hot version, especially when it's cold outside. I used to put my cup of coffee in the microwave, so that I could return it to that perfect sipping temperature, but that isn't very efficient. Taking the time to go to the closest microwave is less time spent doing whatever it was that you were doing. On top of that, microwaves require a lot of electricity, even if you're just using it briefly to raise the temperature of your coffee back to enjoyable levels, but what other options are there, you might ask. I started using candle warmers a long time ago. They keep coffee warm, and they don't use much electricity, but warm coffee isn't hot coffee. I stumbled upon this Elite Gourmet electric single burner, and had to try it. Will it keep my coffee hot? Will it still be more cost effective than continually reheating coffee in a microwave? Will it be safe enough to use anywhere, or I should say, anywhere with an electrical outlet, and a table, or desk, to put it on? For starters, it definitely keeps my cup of coffee hot. In fact, I only turned the dial up to 2, and my coffee was hot. So hot that I had to turn the dial down to between 1 and 2. For me, that's the sweet spot. With the temperature dial set at 1.5, or one and a half, if maintained my coffee at the perfect temperature, for me. As for the difference in power usage, I will have to return, and update this review in 1-3 months, so please return to this review later to check for that update. I can say that I get a lot more done due to not trekking back and forth to a microwave, and getting more done, whether it's work, hobby, or whatever, is always a good thing. Lastly, is it safe to use everywhere that makes sense? The short answer is......it depends. If you have enough space to place the burner so that it's not close to a wall, or things that can melt, or catch on fire, the answer is yes, but the surface it's setting on needs to be considered too. I used an infrared temperature gun to take intermittent temperature readings under, and around the burner, while keeping the burner setting at 2 for exactly one hour. I discovered that the hottest zone, other than the burner itself, was directly under the burner. So, whatever you're using this burner for, whether it's to keep your coffee hot, or for cooking food, you need to be careful, and make sure that you turn it off if you're going to leave it unattended. Anything that gets hot enough to cook food on, is hot enough to be potentially dangerous, if you're not being careful, and this device gets very hot, very quickly. Anyway, I really like this burner. It works excellent. It's very easy to operate, it's light enough to transport, providing you wait until it's cooled down first, and it doesn't take a lot of space to use on a counter, table, or desk. It's easy to clean, but make sure to unplug it first, especially if you're using a damp cloth, or sponge, and don't use a scratch pad, or any abrasive cleaning pad, especially metal ones, like SOS, or Brillo. Please read the instructions before using it. I even think the burner looks nice. If I had to nitpick, I would like it even better if it had a digital display showing the temperature. While I have a infrared temperature gun, to check the temperature of each of the 1-Max dial settings, it would be nicer to have a digital display, so that you could see the temperature without having to use a separate device. I will say that the temperatures for each dial setting are consistently the same, after multiple different readings. It's a great product, and I'm glad that I bought it. I'm considering purchasing another one, so that I don't have to transport this one to and from places. I'll update this review in a few months, to add how cost effective it is, compared to using a microwave. I hope this review helps.

Ease of use

Purchased for my elderly mother. It worries me when she uses her old gas stove. This is convenient and easy to use, and doesn't take up a lot of room on the counter.

Single coil burner

World really great. Alot happier with the single coil burner vs the flat electric burner. This one heats up really fast which is satisfying. I hope it last longer than the previous one that was purchased.

Love It!

I bought the double-burner unit. Like several other reviewers, I was looking for a reasonably-priced alternative to using my propane-fueled stove. This fits the bill. In addition, it is very cleanly designed and looks nice on my countertop. I've had it only a week, so cannot speak to its long-term durability, but so far, it has been easily able to handle cooking a big pot of stew on the larger burner, while cooking a smaller pot of rice on the smaller burner. There is a bit of a learning curve when switching from gas to electricity, but eventually, one gets the hang of it. I would highly recommend this unit.

HOT TAMALES ! This cast iron is HOT!

Let me tell you something, this single cast iron plate boiled a cup of water on level 3.5 in less than 5 minutes.(I never used one of these hot plates , so that was my first test ).Then out of the freezer I put 7 Taquitos on my corningware Phanton Chef skillet on MAX HEAT, flipped once, because it had already grilled at 5”, and in 12” they were FULLY COOKED and PIPING HOT TAQUITOS!I just ordered another SINGLE CAST IRON BURNER , because I read that the Two side/side had issues of one side not working.I love how it keeps everything evenly hot after it has shut off and UNPLUGGED.I’ll be making a cheeseburger next, can’t wait to see how it works. Oh! It’s great for boiling piping hot water for my teas too!,Don’t let the price full you.I might be wrong, but if I like something , it’s good to have a backup.

Heats up super fast

This burner heats fast almost like a microwave does. It does use a ton of voltage as we used in an off grid cabin so our power supply went down quick. But a great value as you get what you pay for.

Medium power, cast iron burner worked well with a battery/inverter camping setup.

I switched my truck camping setup from propane to electric and this worked very well. Note that it's cast iron which takes some time to heat up and stays hot (keeps cooking) after you turn it off. I just turn it off when the food is around half cooked. Mine uses a little over 800W on a 110V PSW inverter. Well made with rubber feet that keep it in place.

Perfect for Small Spaces and Travel!

I purchased this Elite Gourmet hot plate for my small apartment kitchen when I needed an extra burner for holiday cooking, and it's been a lifesaver! It heats up incredibly fast and maintains a consistent temperature thanks to the cast iron build. It’s so easy to use—just plug it in and turn the dial. Cleaning is a breeze; a quick wipe-down and it looks brand new. If you live in a dorm, an RV, or just need a dependable extra heating surface, look no further. This 1000-watt powerhouse is compact and totally reliable. Highly recommend!

If one burner is good ...two are better ..

I recently picked up this Elite Gourmet double burner for my small kitchen / office / extra cooking space, and overall I’m pretty happy with it. It’s compact, easy to use, and has made life a little easier when I don’t want to fire up my full stove. The unit features two cast-iron flat cooking plates — one about 6.5″ and the other about 6″ (some specs say 7″ and 6″) — and a combined wattage of about 1,500W. Having dual burners means I can boil water on one side and sauté veggies on the other, which is nice when space or stove burners are tight. The controls are simple: each burner has its own knob for Low/Med/High and there are power indicator lights so you know when each plate is on. The build feels decent for the price: the cast-iron surfaces are good for heat distribution, and the non-stick or flat surfaces make cleanup easier than coil burners. A number of reviewers mention ease of use and portability. In everyday use it’s worked well: for example, I boiled water in one pot and used the other burner for simmering a sauce — cooking time was nearly in line with what I’d expect from my regular stove (though not quite as fast). The size is good — the footprint is modest (roughly 9″ deep x 16.5″ wide x about 3″ high) according to a spec sheet. On the flip side, there are a few things to watch. One user noted that the cord length is a bit short (so depending on your outlet you might need an extension). Also, as with many cast iron plate burners, heat-up and cool-down times can be slower compared with true induction or high-end burners. Some users also found that for very large pans (10″ or more) the plates are borderline in size.Bottom line: If you need a reliable, space-saving extra burner — maybe for a dorm, office, small kitchen, buffet station, or as a second cook surface — this model gives a lot of value. It’s not perfect for high-end or professional use, but for everyday supplementary cooking it works well.---✅ ProsTwo independent burners (dual plates) for more flexibility.Decent wattage (≈1,500W total) gives usable heat for most everyday cooking.Cast-iron flat plates offer better contact and easier cleaning compared to coil elements.Simple, intuitive controls and indicator lights for safety/use clarity.Compact footprint and portable — good for small spaces, extra cooking surface, buffet use.Runs off 120V standard outlet (no special wiring needed).---❌ ConsBurner plate sizes may be limiting for very large pots/pans (10″ or bigger may extend beyond ideal surface).Heat-up / cool-down times slower compared with professional grade or induction units.Short power cord in some units; placement of outlet may matter.Because of the size and dual plates, it still takes up some counter space — if your area is ultra-tight you’ll want to check dimensions carefully. As with all heated plates, caution needed after use because plates stay hot for a while; as one video review mentions.

it's easy to use. right size for kitchen countertop use

This is a bit slower because it is 120V. However it will do the job. Just preheat a minute or so. I bought this because I have a solar system and want to make use of extra energy during day time. My oven is gas fired. This burner has the right size for kitchen countertop use.

I Make My Moka Pot Coffee on This Hot Plate and it Brews An Awesome Cup!!!

How did I ever live without this electric hot plate?? I decided I wanted to set up a little coffee station in my office so I purchased this hot plate to use with my stainless steel moka pot. I also bought some powdered creamer so I wouldn't have to use a refrigerator or cooler. Now, I prep my moka pot the night before and then in the morning, I just turn on my hot plate and 4 minutes later, I have a delicious, steaming mug of coffee. It's so convenient!!!I should mention the hot plate heats up quickly and has tremendous power. I never have to turn it past the #3 setting (from 1-10). There is no smell when using the hotplate, other than the very first time but it's mild. It looks nice and feels sturdy. The only negative about this hotplate is that it is not easy to clean since it does not disassemble. I'd love some tricks on cleaning it.

How was the item? Elite Gourmet EDB-302BF# Countertop Double Cast Iron Burner,

I like it. For a household of two, this compact double burner gets the job done. It heats quickly, handles basic cooking tasks well, and is easy to clean. Great as a backup or for small-space setups. That said, the burners are a bit small. A 10-inch skillet and a 6-inch pot are about the upper limit—anything larger starts to feel cramped or unstable. It’s definitely built for light-duty use, not full-scale meal prep. Also worth noting: the pilot light seems sensitive to atmospheric static. Occasionally flickers or acts up depending on the room’s conditions, which can be a little quirky but not a dealbreaker.Overall, it’s a solid budget option with a few limitations. If you plan around its size and quirks, it’s a reliable little workhorse.

Life saver.

The kids love it. I was tired of the kids cooking on my stove top and making a mess, so when I saw this little hot plate, I thought this was ideal for them. They are not young children, more like sloppy teens. They like making popcorn and grilled cheese sandwiches. Who knows what they put in the middle of the cheese sandwiches or what seasonings go in the popcorn. Hey, sometimes you have to pick your battles. The grease splatter from the oil and butter drove me crazy, so I bought the hot plate and told them to cook outside on the patio. They have a ball and actually clean up behind themselves. Who knew!?I like the safety features. When the burners tilt, even a little bit, for any reason, it automatically shuts off. The hot plate can get very hot so I make them wear heat resistant oven gloves. I wish I had thought about buying one of these sooner.

Works great!

This burner heated up quickly and boiled the water very quickly. Light in weight and small enough to move around the kitchen. Burner is big enough to fit anything from a small sauce pan to a bigger stock pot. Figuring out the temperature setting will take some getting used to. As of right now, I'd say it is working great!

Good for the price.

I used it every day for 3 months due to my stove going out. It was great for cooking I was able to cook all of my favortie meals doesnt really support any huge skillets like cast irons but everything else works great its not that easy to clean once you get it dirty so you want to stay on top of that. Mine pretty much caught on fire out of no were the coil itself started melting away after continuous use so I would say this is a good use item if you need something temporary or a quick extra burner for cooking big meals but most def not an every day item.

Works great

Perfect for my needs. I stay at rustic hotel on occasion with no fridge or microwave. So I bring a cooler and this little hot plate and cook a lot of my food so I don’t have to eat out all the time. Saves me a ton of money.

Great burner...highly recommend!

I bought three of these for a dinner party where we are having our guests cook their own dessert. I needed to set up multiple cooking stations in my kitchen and these fit the bill perfectly. The unit is light weight and heats up quickly. I like the multiple heat settings as well. The base that the burner rests in is metal and also gets hot so just a word of caution. THis is also a great burner to have in a craft room if you need to melt wax for candle making.
